Privacy Policy
QuoteAmerica ("we," "us," "our") operates quoteamerica.org. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using this website or submitting a form, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you complete a quote request, contact form or unsubscribe form, we collect the information you submit. Depending on the form, this may include your name, email address, telephone number, postal address or ZIP code, and details about your situation such as property characteristics, vehicle count, health coverage status, approximate income range, approximate debt amount, self-reported credit range, home value and mortgage balance.
Information we collect automatically
We and our service providers collect your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, referring URL, the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, and — where you arrive from an advertisement — campaign identifiers such as utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, gclid and fbclid.
Consent records
When you submit a form with a consent checkbox, we record the date and time, your IP address, the page URL, and the exact consent language displayed to you. We retain this as evidence of your consent under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. See our Consent to Contact disclosure.
2. How we use your information
- To connect you with third-party providers who can furnish the quote or service you requested;
- To contact you about your request by phone, text, email or mail, consistent with the consent you gave;
- To verify, validate and score the information you submit, including via third-party verification services;
- To detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and security incidents;
- To operate, analyze, maintain and improve the website;
- To comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
3. How we share your information
This is the most important section of this Policy. Please read it.
QuoteAmerica is an advertising and consumer referral service. The core purpose of this website is to transmit the information you submit to third parties so they may contact you with a quote or offer. When you submit a quote request, we may share the information you provided with:
- Marketing partners, advertisers, and lead purchasers, who may in turn share it with their own network of providers;
- Licensed insurance agents, brokers and carriers;
- Lenders, mortgage brokers and loan originators;
- Home improvement contractors;
- Debt relief and credit counseling providers;
- Service providers that host our infrastructure, deliver email or SMS, verify data, or provide analytics — acting on our instructions;
- Legal and safety recipients, where required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect rights, property or safety;
- An acquirer, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of assets.
We do not sell your information to parties unrelated to the purpose for which you submitted it, and we do not knowingly share it for any purpose other than fulfilling your request and related marketing. For how "sale" and "share" are defined under California law, see our California Privacy Notice and Do Not Sell or Share page.
4. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for a full description and your choices.
5. Your choices
- Marketing calls and texts: reply STOP to any text; ask any caller to place you on their internal Do Not Call list; or use our unsubscribe form.
- Email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Access, correction and deletion: email privacy@quoteamerica.org. Depending on your state of residence you may have a legal right to these; we honor verifiable requests from all US residents as a matter of practice.
- Browser controls: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required.
6. Data retention
We retain quote submissions, contact records and consent records for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described here and to comply with legal obligations. Because consent records may be needed to defend against claims under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, which has a four-year federal statute of limitations, we generally retain consent evidence for at least five years.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit via TLS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
This website is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, email privacy@quoteamerica.org and we will delete it.
9. Do Not Track
Browsers may transmit a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for responding to it, and we do not currently respond to DNT signals. We do honor the Global Privacy Control signal where legally required.
10. Users outside the United States
This website is intended for United States residents, and the products described are available only in the United States. If you access it from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. Changes take effect when posted, and the "last updated" date above will change. Material changes will be signposted on the homepage.
