Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Last updated: July 9, 2026

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar laws in other states, you have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. This page explains how to exercise that right, and — importantly — what it can and cannot accomplish.

How to opt out

Choose any of the following. All are free.

  • Email us. Send a request to privacy@quoteamerica.org with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share." Include the name, email address, phone number and ZIP code you used on this site, so we can locate your records.
  • Write to us. QuoteAmerica (mailing address available on request — email support@quoteamerica.org).
  • Use the Global Privacy Control. If your browser or extension transmits a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out request for that browser. Learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org.
  • Stop submitting forms. Simply browsing this website does not cause your contact information to be shared with any provider. Sharing occurs when you submit a quote request.

What opting out does

Once we process your opt-out, we will stop transmitting your personal information to marketing partners and providers on a going-forward basis. We will retain a record of your opt-out request itself, because we are legally required to remember that you opted out.

What opting out cannot do

An opt-out is not retroactive. If you previously submitted a quote request, your information was already transmitted to one or more third-party providers at that time. Those providers are independent businesses. They retain their own copy of your information, they determine their own purposes for processing it, and their own privacy policies govern.

We cannot delete their copies, and we cannot stop them from contacting you. To do that you must contact each provider directly. If a provider contacts you, ask them for their company name, ask to be placed on their internal Do Not Call list, and ask them to delete your information.

Stopping calls, texts and emails

Opting out of sale or sharing is a distinct right from revoking marketing consent. To stop communications:

  • Reply STOP to any text message.
  • Click unsubscribe in any marketing email, or use our unsubscribe form.
  • Tell any caller to place you on their internal Do Not Call list, and note the company name and date.
  • Register with the National Do Not Call Registry at donotcall.gov. Note that registration does not override consent you previously gave to a specific company.

See our Consent to Contact disclosure for how to revoke consent.

Verification and timing

We do not require you to create an account to opt out. We will verify your identity by matching your request against our records. We will honor a valid request within 15 business days of receipt, and will notify any third party to whom we sold or shared your information in the 90 days preceding your request, where required by law.

Authorized agents

An authorized agent may submit an opt-out on your behalf with your written permission.

Non-discrimination

We will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised this right.
